Sandusky , Ohio – Coaches and volunteers from the North Ridgeville Amateur Soccer League (NRASL) were honored November 14th at the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North’s Annual General Meeting and Awards Luncheon held at the Nia Center, Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky, Ohio.   Among the honorees were Bruce Asp, Administrator of the Year and Volunteer of the Year; Dan Blagojevic, Coach of the Year, Girls Competitive; Greg Fry, Coach of the Year, Boys Recreational; and Dave Thomas, Coach of the Year, Boys Competitive.

In addition to his recognition of service to North Ridgeville Soccer, Greg Fry won the top award in his category for all of Ohio North.

“North Ridgeville should be proud to have these four dedicated volunteers and coaches”, said Jeff Grau, President of the NRASL.   “They have truly helped our organization and have made a positive impact in the lives of many young players.   It is especially gratifying to see that out of the thousands of coaches in Ohio North, Greg Fry was picked as the Coach of the Year for Recreational Coaches”.

Bruce Asp is known to many not only as the Field Manager, but the one who made the concession stand expansion happen.   His long hours of work and dedication earned him two awards.   Dan Blagojevic, the former North Ridgeville High School Boys Coach, was nominated for his commitment to the present U10 Girls Soccer team which is one of the most competitive in their age group in the NOGSL.   Dave Thomas has led the present U12 Boys team from the E division in the AASL up to a competitive position within the B division.   He also coaches a U9 Boys travel team.
