Waiting List Procedures For The In-House Leagues

Before every season, we set a cut off date where we can no longer take any more registrations.   That date is listed on all registration information.   Once that date arrives, board members meet in what’s called “round table” to form the teams, assign coaches, and order   shirts.   Understand that we have a very tight timeline to complete everything before information is distributed to the coaches.   At the round table meeting, the board will set the number of teams in each age group (it has to be an even number) and the maximum number of players on a roster for the purpose of ordering shirts (we need a two to three week lead time for shirts).    In setting this maximum number, some rosters may not be full.   That’s when we start taking names from the late registrants who are on a waiting list.   However, once those spots fill up, then the only way to get on a team depends on whether a child drops out, which is pretty rare.

Players who are put on a waiting list are prioritized according to when their registrations were received.   The bottom line is that no matter how many registrations we receive, everyone will have a spot on a team as long as the registration is within the deadline.   No player who registers on time is ever turned away or bumped.   We try to accommodate the late registrants, but please realize that we have time limitations.   The league is also working hard to improve getting the word out about registration.   We hope our new website is a good step in that direction.
